Premier Foods Group Ltd has awarded Kensal Handling Systems a contract for the supply of a fully integrated, end of line, robotic palletising system.
The system incorporates the latest energy efficient stainless steel conveying for primary products as well as empty and full pallet handling. At the heart of the operation are 3 Quantec Kuka 240KG palletising robots complete with Kensalvac complete layer handling platforms.
These in turn gently and accurately lift the shelf ready packs in layers onto either chep or euro pallets without any contact on the vertical planes of the shelf ready merchandising packs. Increasingly more food and drink producers are looking for answers to achieve fast, efficient and product friendly automation, and with the launch of this system we believe we have the answers to those questions.
"As a systems partner working hand in hand with our colleagues at Kuka UK, we were able to offer the crucial element of excellent cooperation with Europe's largest robotic manufacturer. This close working partnership allows us to prove and test many of the complex issues that arise from such a large robotic project before the final design is agreed and placed on order."
The complete system was installed and commissioned by Kensal in early summer 2013.
The project was managed by the Project Manager now heading the team in Australia.
